hello quick question do we need to insert both our jr pass and our reserved seat ticket when entering the gates? would it be a problem if we didnt insert the reserved seat ticket and just the jr pass?

  1. No. Pass only. You don’t even need reserved seat ticket if you take the unreserved seat.

    Reserved seat only need to be shown to the conductor if requested.

  2. There are two improvents I’d love – and dare say expect given the new jr price point – 1) eaiser rebookings (same route:different times) 2) easier booking for non-Shinkansen reserved trains.
