Movie to Japan Checklist – 2 adults 2 children

My family and I are planning on movie to japan in the next 3 years. I have spent a lot of time in Tokyo traveling and some in Kyoto on permaculture sustainable development farms in the mountains working with Canadian universities. I have wanted to move to Japan since I was young and my family is just about ready to make the commitment.

I am hoping to amass a checklist and some resources of everything that we will need to organize for the 4 of us. I know a good chuck of information about what we need but I want to broad stokes approach my information acquisition; so, Reddit post with every basic silly question! – Where should I look when looking for housing?
– What do I need for my children concerning getting them enrolled in school?
– Do the children need to pass any language testing?
– Where do I look for visa information?
– what kinds of questions should i be researching?
