I’m planning to move to Japan soon and I’m trying to decide between two areas to live. I’d love to hear your thoughts:
Option 1: Tennoji / Shin-Tennoji Area From what I’ve researched, it seems like a solid place to live and apartments don’t seem too expensive. It looks like there’s a nice mix of city life, greenery (parks,zoo, etc.), and cultural heritage, which is a big plus! The only downside I’ve heard is that if you get too close to Tsutenkaku it can get pretty touristy and busy. Being more city-like, I imagine the nightlife/busyness comes with it too.
Option 2: Abeno This area seems more residential and generally safer at night. There’s still city life, with Abeno Harukas and some parks nearby. It also seems more modern, with newer buildings.
I’ve only been to Kita and a few other cultural sites in Japan so far, so any insight from people who know these areas would be really helpful!
