Used to pass that area, despite its reputation of high-profile detainees and history (the location of the famous 300 Million Yen Heist), it’s actually a quite serene and peaceful residential area.
Funnily enough, there used to be a single standalone JP Post ATM stood there, literally in front of the gates and security post. Dunno how and why it was there, it stood out so much. Like, I don’t know who need an ATM in the very front of a prison.
> Getting a reservation might be problematic since they aren’t accepted over the phone without some finesse; however, after a few hours at the bar and some effort, getting in shouldn’t be a problem – they’ll even provide transportation!
This guy Japans.
I visited there quite a few times, doing consular visits.
