I’ll be on winter break from the 26th and would appreciate recommendations for places to visit in December–January and the best time to go.
I live in Osaka and have hiked in Osaka-Kyoto-Kobe but these were like day hike with Rokko being the lengthiest. Nagano looks appealing, but the peaks seem quite high….does anyone have experience trekking there in winter? Since I rely on trains, I'll be solo-ing Mt. Ibuki due to JR being closeby, and would welcome suggestions for other train-accessible peaks.
Nagano, Hyogo, Osaka, Nara, Shiga are the prefectures and Mt. Ibuki, Amanohashidate, Mt. Haku ( Nagano ) are the options so far.
