Hi! My wife and I moved to Japan this year, currently on a student visa (language school) but planning to stay here long term.
We made sure before coming that we had enough savings, so we're good on that, but I recently had an overseas company reach out to me to work for them and they asked me if I'd be able to work the 28 hours per week that the student visa would allow me to. I did some research and as far as I know, that's not possible (or at the very least, not advisable because it could get me into trouble in the future).
I don't wanna do anything shady so I was thinking if there's any legit options of making this feasible. If my wife changes to a senmongakkou, that would allow me to be on a dependant visa, right? Being on a dependant visa working those same 28 hours for an overseas company, would that be ok legally speaking?
I've been trying to find reliable information but I'm just getting more and more confused, so I was hoping anyone could recommend an immigration/taxes lawyer they've worked with before that I could consult on those matters? I don't wanna risk messing things up so I'd rather pay a professional and not worry about it. Thanks in advance!
