Hey everyone! ⭐️ I’m applying for the next departure sequence in 2026 and am heavily debating early arrival. I can see the pros and cons in terms of support and guidance, settling in before summer heat starts, starting at the beginning of school year vs half way, etc.
Like many people I am interested in being placed near or in Tokyo, but I don’t know anyone personally who did early arrival and was placed there, whereas I know of 2 people from the regular arrival who were placed there (1 requested it, 1 didn’t). I also am aware your placement depends on what the BOE and etc. requested / what they’re looking for, but I’m just curious.
Also – any advice or opinions on early arrival pros vs cons is welcome! I am sooo torn on whether to apply for it or not. 😫
Just FYI- I’m still interested in JET whether I get placed in Tokyo or not, so please don’t leave comments telling me about how it’s luck of the draw only and to not bet on it. I am aware.
