Im currently in Kyoto visiting a friend, I was supposed to ride a train from the Biwoko Line of Kyoto Station, however my friend made sudden changes in our plan, So I wanted to kill some time near the station. When I was about to ask if I can return from inside the train lines to the main part of the station, I was told I was not able to, not to mention the person guarding the gates was extremely rude.
I lived in Japan for about 6 years now, coming out of the gates switching to anothee because of personal error is very common and I have never not been permitted to leave my gate/inside the station.
Is this a Kyoto thing? i lived around Kyushu for the past 6 years
