Hi all,
I recently moved and would like to ask your advice about moving-out costs (old apartment cleaning/renovation). In my previous apartment I only had to pay a little for cleaning and got most of my deposit back, so I'm lacking a bit of experience here.
I received this quotation.
The quotation amount is 106,178 but the management company applied a "discount" of 1,178 so that it would be covered exactly by our deposit of 105,000.
Some points maybe worth mentioning:
- We lived there for 3 1/2 years (2 persons, no pets)
- The wallpaper especially in the kitchen did get a bit dirty due to cooking I guess
- The other wallpaper that is being mentioned in the quotation is the living room and I could swear that "dirt" that is the issue was already from the beginning and we reported it when moving in as well but unfortunately couldn't find email communication so maybe we reported it via phone, our stupid mistake of course
- Same for the air con lever, this was already not moving since moving in and it annoyed me from the start so I'm sure we reported it but again couldn't find email communication regarding this
- The floor in the bathroom is some kind of plastic material I assume and just got darker and darker on the frequently used places, even with cleaning directly after noticing changes it didn't get better so we assumed normal wear and tear
- Apart from that I'm pretty sure there is no "real" damage, we behaved very normal and during the moving-out inspection the guy said the same
Basically what I'd like to know is if this is a fair calculation from their side and/or if it's worth it to negotiate with them.
I'm not in a bind for money so if I could negotiate the price down 5k or something it might not be worth it but I also don't want to give them more than required.
