Rakuten Ichiba issue: orders cancelled by Rakuten? VPN the culprit?

Japan resident. Made an order through Rakuten Ichiba (been a member for years and years, ordered lots of stuff) yesterday and everything went through; even got the confirmation from the shop. Then this morning I got a notice that the order had been cancelled by Rakuten. The only difference between this order and past ones is that I was using a VPN. Has anyone else had this issue?

Does Rakuten just blanket cancel any orders made through a VPN? I can still log into my account fine, but I'm worried about trying the order again, even without the VPN, in case they lock my account or something.

Honestly I would just ditch the company entirely but my family and I are dug in pretty deep with Rakuten Mobile, Rakuten Credit Card, etc. so… and I have a ton of points waiting to be used.
