Has the Yen’s devaluation affected your life in Japan?

I was talking with a colleague about this. In a way, of course, Japan imports a TON of stuff, and isn’t priced in Yen.

But I never thought the main reason I might leave Japan in the future would be the currency. If you work in tech, the salaries Japan offers, especially with the Yen dropping compared to the dollar and euro, are… rough. Really rough.

Japan does have the benefit of a reasonable cost of living, but that only gets you so far, when the gap become wider.
