First time in Japan – Please help with itinerary – Tokyo, Osaka, Nara and Kyoto – 11 days in February

Hi! I’m going to Japan next month for the first time! I’m a woman, going as a solo traveler and could really use some feedback about my itinerary <3 I want to do some of the basics stuff and do a little bit of everything! I didn't put in places for food bc I’m pretty open to eating anything and would love recs. I also want to go to a cinema once so send me your favorite cinema in any of these cities!

Feb 16 – Monday

Arrival at Tokyo 7 AM – going to Osaka (bullet train)

  • Osaka Castle and Park, Katsuoji, Umeda Sky Building

Feb 17 – Tuesday

  • Namba Yasaka Jinja, Tsutenkaku, Kuromon Market, Shinsaibashi (pokémon, ghibli, anime stores), Dotonbori

Feb 18 – Wednesday

  • Universal Studios 

Feb 19 – Thursday

  • Daytrip for Nara from Osaka – Nara Park, Todai-ji Nigatsu-do, Nara National Museum

Feb 20 – Friday

 Osaka – Kyoto

  • Kyo-o-gokoku-ji, Imamiya-jinja Shrine, Arashiyama Bamboo Forest, Daihikaku Senko-Ji Temple, Giouji Temple, Otagi Nenbutsuji Temple

Feb 21- Saturday

  • Nijo Castle, Philosopher’s Path, Gion Ichiho, Kiyomizu-dera, Gannrikitei, Fushimi Inari-taisha, Daigo-ji, Kyoto Tower

Feb 22 – Sunday

  • Kyoto to Mt Fuji – Lake Yamanaka (for the Lantern Festival)

Feb 23 – Monday 

Mt Fuji to Tokyo 

  • Tsukiji Fish Market, NTV Tower Ikebukuro (stores and coffee shops), Shinjuku (Golden-Gai, Meiji Jingu), Omoide Yokocho, Harajuku (B-Side Label, Kiddy Land), Shibuya (Tower Records, GBL Miyashita Park, Shibuya Crossing, Shibuya Sky), Aoyama Flower Market, Tokyo Tower

Feb 24 – Tuesday

  • DisneySea

Feb 25 – Wednesday 

  • Pokemon Cafe Nihonbashi, Imperial Palace, Jimbocho Book Town, Akihabara (vintage video games, cameras), Ueno Park, National Museum of Western Art, Tokyo National Museum, Yanaka Ginza, Kirby Cafe , Tokyo Skytree, Sumida Park, Nakamise, Sensoji 

Feb 26 – Thursday

  • Ghibli Museum, Edo-Tokyo Open Air Architectural Museum, Gotokuji Temple

Feb 27 – Friday 

  • Snoopy Museum, BOOKOFF – Depart 12AM

Do you think I should include TeamLab Borderless/Planets? If so, which one?

  1. Feb 17 explore America Mura as well , it is nearby Shisaibashi .
    Osaka team labs is beautiful , but I wouldn’t consider it a must visit. I don’t know about Tokyo .
    Kinkaku-ji temple is beautiful to look at , if possible , do visit .
    If you decide to climb the Tsutenkaku Tower instead Harukas 500 building is nearby , the view is amazing , as it is the highest building in osaka , and highest view deck in japan.
    Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Street is the longest shopping street in Japan , not far from Umeda , you can do some casual shopping if you have the time .
