15 days in Japan with Kids in April 26

Hi all,

We are planning a 15 day trip to Japan for 2 adults and 2 kids (14 and 9) arriving on 30th March. Would appreciate your thoughts on the itinerary please.

We are planning to stay 5 nights in Tokyo, 2 nights in FujiKawaguchiko, 6 nights in Kyoto and 2 nights in Tokyo Bay.

We understand everything is going to be super busy being cherry blossom season. But we are well ahead of Golden week.

Day 1

Arrive at 8:15 am to Narita

Go to hotel in Asakusa for luggage storage

Sensoji Temple

Sumida Park and relax

Day 2

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

* Godzilla Head ( roars every hour)

* 3d Cat

* Cinnamoroll Café Shinjiku,

* Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden,

* Meiji Jingu Shrine where you can write prayers for friends and family (day),

Starbucks Shibuya Tsutsya

*Shibuya scramble Crossing ,

* Shibuya Sky

Day 3

Team Lab Borderless (2-3 hours)

statue of liberty – Odaiba

Anderson Atre Ueno (Bakery)

Ueno Park to see cherry blossom

Shinobazu no ike Bentendo

Matsumoto Kiyoshi (Ueno)

Day 4

Either Hakone Day Trip or Yokohomo Cup noodle museum and Go Karting later

Day 5

* Tea Ceremony,

* Sky tree

* Kaminarimon Gate

* Nakamise Shopping Street – Souveniers

* Don Quijote Asakusa

* Muji asakusa

Day 6

Bus to Kawaguchiko

Around Kawaguchiko

Day 7

Chureito Pagoda, then eat Hotou Fudou at Kawaguchiko Station area,Oishi Park and lastly Oshino Hakkai if time and weather permits

Day 8

Bus and then Shikansen to Kyoto from Kawaguchiko

Kiyomizu-dera Temple

Gion District

– Evening: Dinner at Nishiki Market or Maruyama Park for cherry blossom viewing (April highlight).

Day 9

Day trip to Nara

Day 10

Fushimi Inari Shrine – tori gates,

Sanjusangendo Temple

Nijo Castle ( night cherry blossom light festival)

Day 11

Day trip to Osaka

Osaka Castle – history plus fun grounds.

Umeda Sky Building – panoramic city views.

Evening: Explore Dotonbori – neon lights, street food (takoyaki, okonomiyaki).

Day 12

Arashiyama Bamboo Grove

Togetsukyo Bridge.

Optional: Monkey Park Iwatayama (fun for kids).

Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion) – dazzling reflection in pond

Day 13

Hiroshima Day Trip

Take Shinkansen (~2 hrs) to Hiroshima.

Peace Memorial Park & Museum – educational but impactful for kids.

Atomic Bomb Dome – UNESCO site.

Afternoon: Ferry to Miyajima Island. See Itsukushima Shrine and friendly deer.

Day 14

Travel to Oriental Bay Tokyo for 2 nights

Day 15

Tokyo Disney Sea

Day 16

Depart for return flight.
