Honestly? I don’t know. One issue with working as a software engineer in Japan is that the longer I work here, the more attractive positions outside Japan start to look.
In the end, you always end up comparing how much you can save in X versus Y. And I feel that gap will only get wider unless I find a better-paying job or the yen returns to something closer to normal. So it really depends on those two things.
