Okayama Institute of Languages question

I will be attending OIL starting in april, and I am wondering if anyone has attended the school and could give me a rundown on what the classes were like, and any good study spots in the area? Also if you got an apartment through the school was a bicycle sufficient for travel?
I am also interested in some good places to talk with locals to practice speaking if you know of any friendly bars or things in the area.
