This is my first trip to Japan, and I am planning to stay in Japan from 15 to 22 March. I am planning stay in Kyoto for 5 night 6 day then go to Osaka and stay there for 3 days and 2 nights from 20 – 22. I will fly back in 22 afternoon. Is that ok? I am planning that Kyoto is center to go to Nara and Ine from Kyoto. Is that ok? I am overthinking that Kyoto might be too long, and I am scared that if not 6 days, 5 nights, I might miss everything.

Nothing wrong with staying in Kyoto, but Osaka is often cheaper and is in middle to anywhere in the Kansai region. Second piece of advice, do not worry about not seeing something because everywhere in Japan has something worth looking at. Just have fun, explore, and enjoy your time.
– bookmark on Google Maps the places that interest you
– list down roughly how long each one will take to visit
– organise them in a coherent order
– check the public transport between each
Do people not do that to figure out how many days they need for each location?!
