I recently needed my gaijin card to apply for mercari and was shocked to see that it’s become “worn” to the point that the number is unreadable, and the picture is not really recognisable.
I last replaced it maybe 2022 after losing my wallet. Since then it’s just sat in my wallet. I must actually get it out like 4 times a year max.
Has this happened to anyone else?
I also see that now that I have “realised the card is damaged” I now legally have to get a replacement. Is a visit to immigration still the only way?
