Do you guys have any suggestion for a date night in Kyoto? Any light or special activities that I could plan for my fiancé’s birthday after dinner.
He’s had a really hectic year and I was hoping to surprise him with a nice activity on his birthday ( first week of February) — could just be a walk around somewhere nice at night or a cool bar/izakaya or unique experience post-dinner (we will be having dinner with his parents).
Would prefer areas near public transport or near Kyoto station if possible, but really open to any suggestions that are special! Thank you so much in advance 🥰

I dont know if this question is asked by someone who lives in Kyoto or has spent 20 years traveling there, or by someone who is doing the 2 week japan trip and is staying for 2 nights in kyoto, one of them being the birthday dinner night.
because that drastically changes what I would consider “unique” and would consider suggesting or not…
