Did you buy a House or an Apartment for your family?

For those of you who own your home here—did you choose an apartment/mansion or a house? What were the main factors that led you to that decision (location, schools, maintenance, resale, lifestyle, etc.)?

If money hadn’t been a factor, do you think you would have made a different choice?

My family and I are starting to seriously think about making this big purchase, and we’re pretty torn between the options. We’d really love to hear how others approached the decision and what you’re happy (or not so happy) about now.
