We are a couple in our 30s visiting Japan from March 24-April 6th. The plan is to keep it simple and visit Osaka, Kyoto, and Tokyo since it's our first time. I do want to add a night or two in a small onsen town and get the traditional ryokan experience. This would be between our stay in Kyoto on our way to Tokyo, so I'm looking for something that is not too difficult to travel to and from. I have budgeted about 500/night for this experience.
Any recommendations or tips?
