Hello kind souls,
I'm going on my solo trip to Japan for 13 nights in early March! My flights and hotels are booked (though my hotels are fully refundable).
What I need help with are the finer details. I find trip planning really overwhelming and I procrastinate, so I'd appreciate any recommendations for how I should spend my time! I've been combing through other posts to get ideas.
I'm not interested in super packed itineraries. I like 1 or 2 activities per day to give myself purpose, though I love to explore neighbourhoods and take it all in.
Current itinerary:
- 6 nights in Tokyo
- 4 nights in Kyoto
- 3 nights in Osaka
- Train from Osaka to Tokyo the morning of my flight. Flight leaves in the evening.
Activity ideas:
- I plan on doing some kind of walking or food tour in each city.
- I'm not sure if I should stay 1 night in Hakone or Kinosaki Onsen (though I feel like Kinosaki would make my trip complicated and requires re-organization)
- Window shopping in Tokyo (I love fashion!)
- Potentially some fun self care activity I can only do in Japan
- Tea tour in Kyoto
More about me/my interests:
- I'm very physically active/in shape (can handle hikes, etc.)
- I love fashion, art, and history
Open questions:
- I have a small tattoo—not sure about onsens
Apologies if this was long-winded!
TL;DR: Looking for any recommendations for sights, activities, or readjustments based on my current itinerary.
