Hi, for a while I have been planning a one day trip to Kyoto as part of the trip. I am having second thoughts on it because it is the first day of the trip and will require a round trip to tokyo, as that's where I will be at for the first part of the trip. I am worried about the time crunch and getting back in the hotel before the trains shut down, though I am open to doing a capsule hotel in kyoto if necessary. Trip itself will be landing, the kyoto trip, joining a tour group for the next week for various other places besides kyoto in japan and then a few days in tokyo by the end. Is it worth doing or should I abort it?
Edit: Ok, not doing the day trip, only made this post to get a second opinion just in case it wasn't a bad idea.
