This is our Hokkaido itinerary. How is it looking and is it doable with only trains? Booking a same day flight to CTS after landing from a 12-hour flight to NRT is okay? Thanks in advance.
July 5 – Arrival in Hokkaido
Arrival at Narita International Airport. Domestic flight from Narita to New Chitose Airport (CTS). Transfer from New Chitose Airport to Sapporo by JR Rapid Airport train. Evening at leisure in Sapporo.
July 6 – Sapporo
Full day in Sapporo. Sightseeing includes Odori Park, Hokkaido Shrine (Maruyama Park), Sapporo Beer Museum, and Tanukikoji Shopping Street. Overnight in Sapporo.
July 7 – Otaru (Day Trip)
Day trip from Sapporo to Otaru by JR train. Visit Otaru Canal, Sakaimachi Street, Music Box Museum, and local specialty shops. Return to Sapporo in the evening.
July 8 – Sapporo to Noboribetsu
Travel from Sapporo to Noboribetsu by limited express train. Visit Jigokudani (Hell Valley) and Oyunuma Pond. Overnight at an onsen accommodation in Noboribetsu.
July 9 – Noboribetsu to Lake Toya
Travel from Noboribetsu to Lake Toya. Sightseeing around Lake Toya and Usuzan Ropeway. Overnight near Lake Toya.
July 10 – Lake Toya to Sapporo
Travel from Lake Toya to Sapporo by limited express train. Free time in Sapporo. Overnight in Sapporo.
July 11 – Sapporo to Furano
Travel from Sapporo to Furano via Takikawa. Visit lavender fields including Farm Tomita and Lavender East. Overnight in Furano.
July 12 – Furano
Full day in Furano. Leisurely exploration of lavender fields, Furano town, cafés, and countryside areas. Overnight in Furano.
July 13 – Furano to Biei (Day Trip)
Day trip from Furano to Biei. Visit Blue Pond (Aoi Ike), Shikisai no Oka, and Patchwork Road. Return to Furano in the evening.
July 14 – Furano to Asahikawa to Sapporo
Travel from Furano to Asahikawa, then continue to Sapporo. Visit Asahikawa Ramen Village. Overnight in Sapporo.
July 15 – Departure from Hokkaido
Travel from Sapporo to New Chitose Airport (CTS) by JR Rapid Airport train. Domestic flight from CTS to Tokyo.
July 16 – 25 – Tokyo
