Yokohama and Kamakura as day trips or overnight stays from Tokyo

I'm going to Tokyo late May for 8 days. It's my third time to Japan so I've been to the usual tourist stops. I am meeting a friend there but its their first time in Japan, so we are mainly doing our own thing which for me is walking around, UFO machines and shopping.

I want to do a few solo day trips from Tokyo and I was thinking Yokohama, as I missed it last time, and Kamakura. Since they are kind of close I thought maybe its better to stay overnight in Kamakura rather than 2 trips out? I want to do 2 days in a row as thats when my friend is in Osaka.

I would prefer staying at a ryoken or airbnb in Kamakura for a change of scenery, but I don't want to bring my luggage with me. So I have 3 options from what I can see:

  1. Keep one Tokyo hotel booked where I keep my luggage, not keen on paying for a night if I'm not staying though. This might be a good option if the weather isn't looking great and I don't feel like staying overnight

  2. Forward luggage on to another hotel in Tokyo while I'm gone. This might sound weird to some but I'm thinking of staying in 2 different hotels, since the hotels I wanted aren't available for the whole trip. I could then experience staying in 2 areas and get a nicer hotel for part of the trip. I do spend time in it, not just for sleep.

  3. Store my luggage somewhere while I am out of Tokyo? Its just a medium suitcase. Then go back to the same hotel or a different one depending on what I find.

The trip I was planning to do was Kamakura on day 1 plus Enoshima. Then the next day go to Yokohama for Chinatown, cup noodles and the waterfront, go back to Tokyo for dinner.

Has anyone done something similar? Or have an alternative idea on where to visit or stay?

Thanks!
