Hi there!! I'm new to this subreddit.
I'm traveling to japan in May (15 days) and I'm kinda worry about vegetarian options… I can eat eggs, milk, honey and cheese. I’m not specifically looking for fully vegetarian or vegan restaurants only (but they are welcome) I’d love recommendations for regular restaurants that have good vegetarian options on the menu if you know. And sadly, I don't like sushi.
Where I’m from, it’s pretty easy to find vegetarian options in Japanese and other Asian restaurants, so I was wondering how it compares in Japan.
So far in Tokyo I’ve found two nice options:
- We Are The Farm Shibuya
- Mr. Farmer
I’d love more suggestions in central areas or most famous neighborhoods of Tokyo and Kyoto.
Also, I wanted to ask about etiquette:
Is it generally okay in Japan to order a dish and ask for no meat or fish on it? Or is that considered inconvenient or rude in most places?
Thanks so much!!!!! <33
