2nd trip – Japanese alps and Izu peninsula during the summer

Hi everyone,

I (F, 30s, coming solo from canada) will be going to Japan again this august and trying to espace to heat in the alps. My dates are not set yet as i need to book the flights but this is my itinerary for now and i would be around mid to late august. I speak very little japanese and undertsand even less…

I will also be spending 2 days in Tokyo at the start of my trip to fight jetlag (and go to a teamlab expo since i haven't been on my first visit)

Day 1 – Tokyo → Matsumoto
Castle, Miso brewery tour, art museum?

Day 2 – Matsumoto
Tsubakuro or Norikura Highlands

Day 3 – Matsumoto
Daio Wasabi Farm am + Narai‑juku pm

Day 4 – Kamikochi (overnight
Valley walks

Day 5– Kamikochi
Mt. Yake hike, overnight in Hirayu Onsen

Day 6 – Hirayu Onsen then head to Takayama

Day 7 – Takayama
morning market, Hida Folk Village, old town (chill day**)**

Day 8– head to Nagano
visit the Snow monkeys park

Day 9– Nagano
hike Togakushi

Day 10– Nagano to Tokyo to Izu peninsula
(long day of transit…)

Day 11+ 12 – Shirahama Beach
i know the izu peninsula is nothing like Okiwana but it's really just to chill a little on a beach for 2 days. my expectations are low.

Day 13 – head back to Tokyo and fly home same evening (or stopover in Yokohama?)

Any advices, mistakes i'm making, things i should change?
i'm trying to balance hiking heavy days (i'm a pretty advanced hiker, and quite fast) but also have more relaxed days.

i also have the option of adding a hike to Mt Fuji since i will be right in the season but i'm not sure it's worth it with how crowded it is and i've also read how dirty the summit is?

thanks a lot!
