  • Sturgis (suggestion by M4rkusD)

We are looking for anything we may have missed or any other fun activity to be honest, our trip would be Tokyo, Takayama, Kanazawa, Kyoto, Osaka so we should be covering majority of cities.

We are going mid Feb to mid March so if there is also any nice concert would be amazing to know.
Thanks!

  1. Sturgis in Kanazawa is insane. They’ve got a cover charge but they’re very open about the reason why. I’ve been to ING in Kyoto twice and it’s one of my favourite. Mixed crowd but it gets busy. Keep in mind that a lot of rock bars allow smoking!

  2. Shimokitazawa (Tokyo suburb) is a good area for live music bars from what I understand, and fairly certain at least a handful of them are rock-oriented.

I did a touch of research for our last trip, but we didn’t end up doing more than daytime thrift store shopping when we actually got there, so unfortunately can’t add much more than to recommend having a look in that area.

  3. Kyoto also has Submarine, I went to a cool metal / shoegaze show there right before new years. Check out the band Lightning Swells Forever, they rip!
