Shizuoka Itinerary
Hi, this is my 5th time going to Japan but it will be the first time I will be travelling to Shizuoka. I’m enamoured by Mt Fuji and I wanted to make this part of my trip a tribute to the mountain. I have been extremely unlucky with Mt Fuji over all of my trips so far so I hope I get a good one this time.
I planned my itinerary as such (before making my way back to Tokyo). I am used to travelling in Tokyo so I hope the suica card will be useful to get around (otherwise do let me know what to prepare). I also have not booked my hotel, and I was thinking of booking one close the Shizuoka station for easy travel.
Do let me know if I should add anything else, or if you have any recommendations for any of these locations. My main/sole priority is Mt Fuji, and I want to maximise my chances of seeing it.
This will be in early-mid April.
My itinerary:
Day 1:
Land in Narita (9am in the morning)
Take Narita Express Train to Tokyo Station
Take Shinkansen to Shizuoka Station
Drop off luggage at hotel
Horai Bridge
Explore near the station and take rest.
Day 2 (will be a LOT of walking):
Take public transport to Nihondaira Ropeway
Take ropeway to Nihondaira Plateau
Walk down to Toshogu Shrine
Walk to the coast
Walk to Miho no Matsubara Pine Forest
Day 3:
Take train to Fujinomiya
Shiraito Falls
Otodome Falls
Mt Fuji World Heritage Center
Explore the town
Day 4:
Mt Ashigara Hike
Explore a nearby lake?
Day 5:
Gotemba Premium Outlet for shopping for the family
Take the limousine bus to Tokyo
