Solid wood top plate for a desk

I bought some legs for a standing desk and am now looking for a good top plate. It's going to be fairly large, at around 160×70 or 160x80cm, and ideally solid wood or something quite sturdy. I'd normally order something online but feel kinda bad about having a big/heavy piece of wood shipped here when I could maybe get it locally.

Does anyone know of any places on the main island where I could find something like this, or have it made? Not looking for things like Ikea/Nitori desk tops where the inside is hollow with a honeycomb structure.

I checked makeman but they don't seem to have the right sizes of wood, and I'd also prefer to not do a DIY job on it.

  1. You could look up lumber yards near what area you live in and stop by to see if they have any in stock. Makeman, Sakumoto, Tabata, etc have some larger pieces come and go, but don’t see to keep a large selection in stock. I did see some larger pieces of natural grain ends at a couple different Makeman stores that I was thinking of using but decided against it.
