Hello, when I moved to Japan in August 2025 from America I had a miscommunication that I hope won’t damn me from getting my visa renewed July/August 2026. I updated my address at the Nagoya Chikusa Ward office and there, I was asked if I want healthcare. Through a total misunderstanding I signed up for Kokumin and Nenkin through the national scheme, though I already had shakai hoken. I have been paying the shakai hoken and employer Nenkin, but have many bills for the duplicates that I cannot afford due to my low starting salary here. I intend to apply for renewal in July, but I am still waiting on Proof of Shakai Hoken from my employer. All I have are my paystubs clearly showing that I’ve been paying. Is it worth a try to take just my pay stubs as “proof?” Or do I need more official documentation? I also received my MyNumber card, but I’m scared it’s somehow linked to my Kokumin and Freeland Nenkin and not my Shakai Hoken. I’m so lost and honestly having a small panic attack every week over this waiting for my official employee proof. I just want to renew. I had no idea such an unintentional mistake could make me ineligible for renewal and be seen as delinquent. Even if I cancel TODAY, how will I be seen? Ugh I’m rambling but any help is seriously appreciated. I turn to you all. Thank you.
