Hello! I (28F) live in Tokyo-almost-Kanagawa but me and my partner (29M, Japanese) discuss plans to move back to his hometown of Nagaoka in Niigata prefecture in the future. I've always wanted to have a small cuniculture homestead as a hobby and for personal consumption, I've researched it for years in my country so now that I have this opportunity I'm looking forward to learning more about the small-scale farming scene in Japan!
Does anyone here have experience with homesteading in Japan?
Do you need any license or any type of permission to have a small number of animals for personal breeding and consumption? In my country people do homesteading very casually, there's no bureaucracy at all, but I know Japan is the country of "you need a license for that".
