We’ll be travelling to Yakushima in May and there seems to be a few options to get from Yakushima to Osaka:
-
Jet foil from Yakushima to Kagoshima. Fly from Kagoshima to Osaka. Cheapest option, but slowest.
-
Fly from Yakushima to Osaka with a layover in Kagoshima (ranging from 25 min to 70 min). Cheaper option but short layover time could be risky.
-
Fly directly from Yakushima to Osaka – no layover. Most expensive option and fastest.
A few questions:
-
Having read that it’s very rainy in Yakushima, I’ve read about there being a very real chance of flights/jetfoil getting delayed/cancelled. For this reason, is it risky to rely on timeliness of the jetfoil or first leg of a flight (Options 1 and 2)?
-
A 25 min layover seems very short. Is this even realistic, especially given the above concern.
Just wondering how some fellow Redditors have managed their departure from Yakushima.
