Hi all! Hope your evening is doing well.
Every time I research immigration to Japan as an artist, I often see that as an option to list while obtaining a visa. I have, on and off, been thinking about becoming a full time artist in Japan, though it might be cliche to some.
(And if anyone is thinking it – I'm definitely not a newbie artist looking to go to a magical land [I know Japan is more complicated than that, like every country is] that will fufil my every art needs, but I would definitely describe myself more as a hobbyist looking to spread my wings more than anything right now.)
If anyone has done this, how easy for it was you to find employment as one? Does the visa require you to be a student or already employed to be considered for the artist visa? How is the culture surrounding full time artists these days (not necessarily just for Animators or manga artists)
