I think after yesterday show, I finally realize that we should stop fantasy booking to slow down our expectations for what will happens in the show.
I know it's very difficult, because it's how we enjoy the future of New Japan, but if we finish the show with a sour taste because there was no turn of others big moments that would make us angry and stop watching New Japan.
That post is not for blaming anyone because we do fantasy booking, just a reminder that a show is not bad because they don't pull the trigger on something we are expecting from fantasy.
There are multiple talk about Umino's heel turn, telling he should turn on fans and embrase that dark side. But we should focus on the success that is that tag team with Yuya Uemura. I truly think both wrestlers elevated themself in term of story telling and hyping up matches. Also after watching a lot of interviews from Umino, he never said something that would give us glimpse of a heel turn, even yesterday he continue to said he should turn boos to cheers.
Callum elevation to the top scene is also a good example. Him taking the nickname of Prince and embrase a more vicious and heelish wrestling style remind us of Prince Devitt, and expectation of him taking back Bullet Club goes here and there. Callum show rebellious acts and words, with the almost chair shot to Ospreay, there is something bluring the line of course.
But again yesterday after his win he continue to say he will make the Empire the best unit of New Japan. I don't see him telling this for leaving the Empire we don't know when.
