Corporate asset seizure related to non payment of pension and national health insurance (6 months unpaid)
Hello everyone
I apologise for taking up your time. I am an overseas investor who has a company in Japan managing AIRBNB units in Osaka. I had hired a Japanese Business Manager who had unfortunately misused all my company's business income and capital while failing to pay the expenses including rents, utility bills and pension and health insurance contributions for 6 months totalling 480,000 yen
I became aware of these issues in late November and have been taking steps to catch up with all outstanding dues.
Regarding the pension and health insurance we were only able to find out the details in December 2025 and by then the outstanding dues had reached 480,000 yen for Aoril to November 2025. The previous Business Manager had been hiding all the notices requesting payment but as far as I know there were no pink slip nor any demand letter.
My new business manager upon calling the pensions office was informed that an immediate asset seizure was being initiated and the representative over the phone stated that even the 10 days time frame we required to make the payment in full was not possible.
I did think that this was perhaps not the usual procedure and was wondering whether enforcement as described was likely under these circumstances and within 10 days.
I would be grateful for any advice or guidance anyone knowledgeable would provide.
Thank you
M
