Mostly, I would like to be able to use the train with my watch, rather than fumble with my weary old TOICA card, which needs to be recharged with cash. The bank that looks the most attractive to me, SBI Shinsei (extensive English on the website and app, very low currency exchange fees, free use of konbini atms, etc) is not one of the banks that play nicely with apple pay, or so says Apple's website.
This feels like it should be a relatively trivial issue, with a simple workaround. Is there a third party service in Japan that I could use as an intermediary between the bank and Apple? I can stay oldschool and just keep using the card, but it seems as though there should be a solution. Any suggestions?
Edit: I know that I can add Suica to my watch using apple wallet…except…I can't use apple wallet in the first place. It already rejected my US-based credit card, and some Japanese bank cards are apparently incompatible with apple's payment system. I currently can't use apple wallet for anything including Suica. My question is not about what app to use for paying for the train, it is about what kind of non-bank payment widget, if any, I could use as an intermediary between a bank and apple wallet. Apologies for not being clear.
