I had a debit card from jp post bank (ゆうちょ銀行) and I keep getting declined from making an expensive online purchase. I changed my one time transaction limit to 500,000 yen but despite that my purchase still won’t go through. I did try like ten times yesterday before changing my limit and it still didn’t work. The reason I tried so much was that in the past some purchases took multiple attempts but eventually worked. I didn’t know about daily limits then.
My Japanese isn’t good enough to call the help desk so if I need to talk to someone it would need to be in person.
Does anyone know what I can do?

Talk to the bank staff
Maybe you changed the ATM withdrawal limit or something else?
ゆうちょ銀行’s card security is very easily triggered by random websites, you have to call the card service. They’ll check your identity and manually authorize the transaction, you’ll be able to make the purchase a couple hours after the call.
I think there’s a limit you can spend every month. Even if modify the limit for one transaction there’s still the monthly limit (I think 100k)
