So I am planning my residence close to the kid's school. But rental costs are high so we may need to select a residence slightly far from the school.
The candidate places are around 1.5km walking distance from the school. I think a 6~7 year old should be able to do this once they get used to it after a few weeks.
But wife disagrees. From where I am kids hardly walk to school and we drop them right at the school gate.
So I want to know if this kind of walking distance is considered normal or is it too much? Will the kid be able to bear it?
Also is it safe to assume, on a flat terrain this should take maximum 25-30 mins for a 6 year old to cover the distance?
