Hi everyone~
My boyfriend and I are relocating to Osaka for his work and we are searching for neighbourhohods to focus the flat search. A few years back I lived in Sakuranomiya and Tengachaya, but I wasn't a fan of either. I could imagine living in the Nakazakicho, Tenma, Ogimachi area… maybe Kyobashi or Morinomiya? Any perspectives or ideas on life in those areas, or ideas about similar neighbourhoods?
We love shotengai/places with charm, good grocery stores/gyomu, access to some kind of nature, and convenience. We need a place with personality and charm – local cafes, bakeries, active temples or something – one of the reasons I'm really drawn to living by a big shotengai or something similar like Nakazakicho. We don't care for nightlife or bars, we are more daytime adventurers.
Also, I've never been, but Amagasaki, Suita, and Ibaraki are also on the table due to good proximity to Umeda and cheaper rent. Can anyone give insight to whether they are easy to live and have enough going on that we don't get totally bored? Any other similar neighbourhoods you could recommend in the north that I'm not thinking of? I really appreciate it~
***Other points that may be relevant: we don't have a family but it's not off the table for the near future, I bike often to run errands so hills are tough, Osu in Nagoya is my favourite place I ever lived (#2 is Koenji in Tokyo) so anything similar I will love. Thank you so much!
