Hi everyone,
I don’t often see civil engineers posting here, but I’m hoping someone with civil engineering experience — or anyone who has a friend or family member in the field — can share some advice.
I’m currently 27 years old and planning to study at a Japanese language school in Japan for one year, aiming to reach JLPT N2 level (I’m currently at N4).
By the time I finish language school, I’ll be around 29. Would companies in Japan still be willing to hire someone my age as a civil engineer? Also, what salary range should I realistically expect? Any city is fine — I just want to understand the general range.
For background, I have over 3 years of remote experience working for a U.S. company as an estimator, and about 4 years of on-site experience in my home country (Philippines) with a small construction company.
I’d really appreciate any insights or advice. Thank you!
