Side note: I am an Indian college grad, living in Edogawa for 4 years now as an IT worker, PR through HSP.
I work for a big IT consultancy firm in here.
Today, I met a Keio University Japanese grad on Twitter. He claims to have worked in 4 foreign IT companies before opening up his own "AI startup". His profile indeed seems legit.
He is quite young so I thought we could share some similar values.
One of this posts was about how Takaichi is improving Japan. He wrote a few points:
The speed of policy implementation is high, with gasoline tax cuts, the elimination of annual income barriers, the FORGE framework for rare earths making Japan a resource-rich country, relaxation of arms exports to increase GDP, the likelihood of success with 2nm logic semiconductors (Rapidus), active fiscal policy + expansion of domestic demand, and cooperation with the US and EU. He even wrote "I look forward to any challenging viewpoints"
Yet when I replied (all have been machine translated from Japanese)
Rapidus has been successful thanks to its partnership with IBM technology and investment from Japanese venture capitalists, and has no connection to Takaichi.
Japan does not have the technology to refine rare earths.
He replied with:
LOL I'll argue 1. What's important isn't what was discussed, but that it was passed. 2. The government is providing huge subsidies to Lapidus, as well as shipbuilding. 3. Rare earths are easy to produce because they don't contain radioactive materials. That's it. Ignorance is scary lol
So I countered with actual proofs and links.
Then at last he didn't challenge me, he simply left an insulting message:
Oh, an Indian immigrant lol. Not worth the conversation. A waste of time. I'm rich.
And then he blocked me………
And its not just him. Several Keio grads have been either total scumbags, or ignorant. What surprises me is that a lot of them worked for reputed companies like NTT, Denso, Toyota, etc etc. But somehow their behaviour pisses me off.
I thought it was typical of a "private university" grad who got through with his rich daddy's money.
And you know what?
I have seen Waseda University grads and profs being more kind and worthy to talk with. Even though Waseda is a private uni.
Just to give another example, recently you guys might have heard of a DPFP politician getting arrested by Tokyo MPD for election law violations? Turns out she paid money to a PR marketing company run by again, a female Keio grad to promote herself.
