Incoming exchange student at Kansai University (Sept) – Looking for Spanish/Hispanic community!

Hi everyone! / ¡Hola a todos!

I’m a student from Spain (University of Santiago de Compostela) and I’m planning to do an exchange semester at Kansai University (Osaka) from September to February.

Most of the information and vlogs I find online are from English-speaking students. While I’m excited to take my Economics courses in English and I’m definitely planning to learn some Japanese, I’m a bit worried about the social aspect and feeling a bit isolated at the beginning.

I’d love to know:

• Are there any Spanish or Hispanic students currently at Kansai University who will still be there in September?
• Is there anyone else planning to join for the Fall semester (Sept-Feb) who speaks Spanish?
• For those already in Osaka: Is there a local community or specific spots where Spanish speakers usually gather?

I’m really looking forward to this leap, but knowing there might be some "paisanos" or people with a similar background around would definitely help with the nerves!
