New Japan were keen to make BC a big deal, especially with Devitt moving out of the junior division and squaring up against Tanahashi for the world title in a losing effort. However he wasn't pushed as firmly as some of the other leaders were and quickly enough WWE picked him up and AJ took over and led Bullet Club to the popularity they eventually became. Would Devitt win the title eventually if he didn't leave or did Bullet Club need the name value of AJ Styles to become the main faction of the company for a while.
