Hi, im currently 19 years old, in my gap year after finishing high-school, um let's start with a bit of background, originally my plan was to go to germany to study my bachelors but the prices in Germany have been skyrocketing so I dropped the idea of going outside of my country and started focusing on my entrance exams in the country, but now after a year outside my high school i realised, i just didnt want to make a future here, my parents I decided on korea or japan, since my relative used to live in japan we went with the latter. But I miss the mext scholarship criteria by a bare margin.
I wanted to join a language school in october, possibly akamonkai for its university prep courses of 1.5 years and then after learning the language move onto a national or good private uni. But I talked to one of the consultants that send people to japan for a living and they told me to drop this and take an English course instead, but I feel like taking English will severely decrease my chances of employment in the future, doesnt help that I want to pursue cs or data science.
So well my question is, is this a weird strategy? The consultant says no one does this, and that i should do English course along with japanese classes.
