Howdy,
I will be relocating to Japan w/ a SOFA visa to work for the navy. Ideally looking to relocate my family in a few months after I get settled(they are currently in korea. Wife korean citizen/us green card / baby us/korean dual citizenship)
My biggest concern is, health insurance for little one, as right now it's basically free for her in korea..
I know while I'm under sofa I cannot register for japanese NHI but, is it possible to register wife/baby as residents so they can receive NHI?
Worried dealing with overseas U.S. insurance will be a huge hassle and extremely expensive for pediatric care.
Any advice on how to register them as residents while im there under w/sofa status, or input on best u.s. overseas insurance with least out of pocket would be greatly appreciated!
