A lot of Japan Reddit posts can fill your head with things like stagnation, inflation, dying population, depreciating yen, can't survive on less than 10m… and other rubbish like that.
And for I understand that it's true for a lot of people in temporary employement…
But I hear worse about the UK. That the job market sucks, skilled workers have crept down to minimum wage, rent and mortage is ridiculous, daycare costs are a full-time wage…
While I see all these Japanese people getting 2 bonuses a year, working a ton of overtime, and barely having time to spend any money… day in and day out for decades.
And if you're married without kids and both work full-time… by retirement, you should be sitting on a pile of gold.
Sure, the exchange rate makes travel abroad sucky, but other than that it seems pretty easy to live a decent life to me.
