So, I have an upcoming driver's license appointment for driver's license conversion, where I am required to submit documents, pass a vision test, and pay the required fees. On the form to make the appointment for the driver's license conversion, I was asked if I spoke fluent Japanese, when I selected no, the form popped out a text saying that translator/interpreter was required. For those of you with experience with this, am I to secure an interpreter to bring with me to the appointment? Is this really necessary? I have been able to do almost every single appointment (not drivers license related) with my limited Japanese and assistance of my phone's translator. I just don't want to be turned away from the driver's license center if the physical presence of a translator is actually needed at the appointment. Thanks so much!
