Stopped by the Police in Tokyo 3 times in one week

I am a 23yr old female student with tan skin living in Tokyo who works in Shibuya. I have been often told by Japanese people that I am at the very least racially ambiguous (people I am assume I am half-Japanese). To make a long story short, I have been “randomly” stopped by police on three separate occasions and asked to be searched. twice in Shibuya as I was actively walking to the Family Mart next to my job (these were officers in patrol vehicles that pulled over) and just today by plain clothes officers inside of Ikebukuro Station as I was, again, actively walking. The officers approached me in Japanese, and one set even told me they “didn’t know“ I wasn’t Japanese. I’ve lived in Japan almost a year and a half and this is the first time this has happened, and it’s crazy to me now that I’ve had 3 incidents in one week. I’m really struggling with understanding this. Being from the US, I want to believe that it’s racial profiling, but I’m not completely sure. My Japanese friends and coworkers have said it’s profiling and they said it’s strange that they’re even stopping a woman. Is there some like increased policing going on in Tokyo? Has anyone gone through this recently? This whole situation is making me want to go back home honestly…
