Nikkei who moved to Japan on a long-term resident visa. how was your experience?

Hi everyone. I'm from Brazil, I'm 22 years old, and I'm the grandson of Japanese immigrants. I have JLPT N2 level and I’d like to live in Japan for a while for the experience. I have a degree in Computer Science and some experience in the field, but I’m not planning to work in IT at the beginning.

I was considering going to a language school as an exchange student, but since I’m eligible for a long-term resident visa as a Nikkei, some people recommended that I not go as a student.

I’m thinking about getting a long-term resident visa,staying for about one to two months to settle in while I look for an apartment and a language school, and then finding a part-time job to help cover my expenses.

Has any other Nikkei done something similar? I’d love to hear about your experience.

I have all the necessary documentation and enough money to support myself for two years.
