My spouse is a dependent and his visa expires in early August. I just got PR myself so we want to get his "spouse of a PR holder" PR application in before April 1st because I heard doing that can avoid the fee hike (anyone know if that's true?).
Does he have to get his current visa extended before he can apply for PR? Should it be done at the same time or is it okay to do it after his PR application?
Any advice or experiences are greatly appreciated! I've heard different things from different sources. It's just about impossible to get through to immigration to ask them.
